MIDDLE EIGHT RESIDENCE

Forsite completed the design for the renovation of this 2,000 sf mid century residence on Lake Austin. Buttressed by two stone fireplaces, the living space bridges a dry creek draining to the lake below. The house is characterized by horizontal, deep overhangs and a tall central space with clerestory light. 

Our objective for this renovation was to restore the gracefulness of the original composition by removing later alterations and restoring the ceremonial front entrance. New full-height windows over the bridge increase the transparency and lightness of the volume while opening up views to Lake Austin beyond.
